with Interstate 77. Interstate 74 provides a direction connection between the two freeways. At Exit 101 of
Interstate 77, Interstate 74 merges onto northbound, traveling in tandem with Interstate 77 to the Virginia

The east-west freeway sees five interchanges within the Mount Airy vicinity. They are with North Carolina
89 (Exit 6), Red Brush Road (Exit 9), U.S. 601 (Exit 11), U.S. 601 Business (Exit 12), and Park Drive (Exit 13).
The U.S. 52 freeway continues a short distance to Holly Springs Road. There the highway becomes an at-grade
