U.S. Highway 84 West
U.S. 84 westbound enters the city of Bainbridge, the county seat of Decatur with 11,922 residents as of the 2000 census. Once in the city, the federal highway partitions into a business loop and freeway bypass. Pictured here is the U.S. 84 turn onto the Bainbridge bypass. Turning onto the Bainbridge bypass freeway from U.S. 84 westbound. The freeway ends at at-grade intersections with Thomasville Road. A wide grassy median separates the carriageways of the freeway initially and it is unclear if an eastward extension was ever envisioned. Photo taken 02/12/06.

The first of five interchanges along the bypass joins U.S. 84 with U.S. 27 (Tallahassee Highway) and U.S. 27 Business (Tallahassee Road). U.S. 27 travels northward from Tallahassee, Havana, and Attapulgus to Bainbridge from the south. The federal highway merges with U.S. 84 along the bypass between south Bainbridge and West Bainbridge.
